UNI CARES PROJECT IS SPREADING LOVE
Chronic homelessness doesn’t end with a shelter stay—it ends with long-term housing, supportive services, and the dignity of a fresh start. The Rehousing & Renewal Project connects individuals and families experiencing homelessness to permanent housing solutions, including rapid rehousing and transitional support.
Through partnerships with local landlords, service providers, and community organizations, we provide:
- Housing navigation and landlord engagement
- Financial assistance for rent, security deposits, and move-in costs
- Case management and life skills support
- Transportation and referrals to mental health, medical, and employment services
This project centers human dignity, accountability, and trauma-informed care to break the cycle of homelessness. Every participant is supported with a personalized action plan and the tools they need to achieve long-term stability.

Request the STAR PROJECT to your next Outreach event
Organizations and community groups can request the STAR Project’s presence at their events. Whether you’re hosting a health fair, community outreach event, or any other gathering focused on public health, our team is here to provide essential resources, education, and support. Services We Offer:
- Narcan Distribution: Providing free Narcan kits and training on how to use them.
- Fentanyl Testing Strips: Distributing and educating the public on the use of fentanyl test strips.
- Resource Referrals: Connecting individuals with addiction treatment and support services.
JOIN OUR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH INTERNSHIP TEAM
The Behavioral Health Integration & Certification (BHIC) Internship offers students and emerging professionals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mental health planning, harm reduction strategy, and nonprofit systems development.
Interns will support projects that align with UNI Cares Project’s efforts to become a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) and expand behavioral health services across Las Vegas.
